Hi, Friends!

I’m sharing another floral card from the Simon Says Stamp All The Feels Release! The Floral Garden stamp is a 6″ x 8″ set with large blooms. I decided to make a slimline card that’s a bit wider so I can use more of the image. My card today measures 4″ x 8.5″.

The very first thing I did was emboss my sentiment using Versafine Oynx Black Ink using the Because of You stamp set so that I could emboss it with clear embossing powder. I suppose I could’ve done this last but I didn’t want embossing powder to cling to any of the ink. This way, I could also ink-blend Distress Oxide ink for an emboss-resist technique. Before stamping and coloring my image, I ink-blended the entire panel with Peacock Feathers and Bundled Sage inks.

I stamped my image with a light ink so that I could watercolor for a no-line look. I used Karin markers to watercolor my images. To do so, I selected my colors and scribbled the ink onto my glass top and picked up the color with a damp brush to add to my cardstock. I applied more color to create darker areas and cleaned my brush if I wanted to blend or remove color for shading.

I finished my card by trimming my panel to mat my cardbase, splattering it with black and white paint and adding a sentiment strip from the Because of You stamp set.
