Hello, Friends!
Welcome to Day 1 of a 2-Day Blog Hop celebrating the Simon Says Stamp Born to Sparkle Release! I’m so thrilled you’re here and am excited to share my project with you. I hope you’ll enjoy the inspiration along the blog hop! To see all the inspiration for this release, be sure to check out the Born to Sparkle GALLERY! There are 3 new 3D embossing folders in this release and I’m sharing one of them with you today.

The Magnolia Branches 3D Embossing Folder is beautiful! I decided once more to try watercoloring over these embossed panels. Check HERE to see my first project using a Simon Says Stamp 3D embossing folder where I watercolored – there is a video if you’d like to see the process!

I embossed the image over Arch’s cold-pressed watercolor paper, then watercolored the embossed areas with Daniel Smith Watercolors. After watercoloring, I splattered the panel with the green and purple paints I used on the flowers and leaves for more texture.
Daniel Smith paints used: Quinacridone Violet, Hooker’s Green, Sepia, Quinacridone Gold

I matted my watercolor panel over a piece of A2 Fog cardstock. My sentiment is from the new Reverse Get Well Sentiment Strips. I’ve said this before, but I want to re-iterate – I LOVE these pre-printed sentiment strips bc they save me so much time! To finish my card, I added a few iridescent sequins.
I hope you like it and that it inspires you to try something new if you’ve never colored over embossed images!

This embossing folder is beautiful – and what you have done with it is simply stunning! I have never been brave enough to watercolor as I don’t think of myself as a painter, but you’ve inspired me to try it!
