I’ve got a simple graduation card to share today. My niece is graduating from high school tomorrow so I made a card for her using her school colors – silver/gray and navy blue. I know graduation cards can be simple – but I think it’s wonderful to be able to personalize it with school colors. The Cap and Gown die makes it easy to personalize colors.
To begin, I foiled a white panel using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Skinny Stripe Background plate. I used Prism Foil and it gives off a holographic look. I trimmed the panel for a mini-slimline card – which is great for money.
I die-cut the Cap and Gown using soft navy cardstock and the tassel bit using holographic cardstock. I adhered them to the foiled background panel using foam adhesive to give it some dimension.
To finish, I stamped the sentiment over vellum cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I wrapped it around the bottom of my card and matted it with more soft navy cardstock before attaching it to a card base.
I hope this gives you an idea to make simple graduation cards. I don’t make a lot of them but if I needed to, I’d reach for these dies to make a quick personalized card! Thanks for visiting today!
