Hello Friends!

Today kicks off a new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! We have a sketch challenge this time around but I have a feeling everyone will love it! Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawnatics Blog to see inspiration from the entire team and to link up your projects!

My card today uses the Stitched Rainbow die. This die was new in it’s package so I’m glad this sketch challenge gave me a reason to use it!!! I die-cut my bands from Lawn Fawn cardstock (Raspberry, Apricot, Cilantro, Mermaid, Sugar Plum) and pieced them together with some glue on a backer rainbow that I die-cut from the same die-set. Holds everything together nicely!

Next, I adhered my clouds. I knew I’d be propping it all up with foam for dimension, so I went ahead and added that and then set it aside to work on my striped background.

For my background, I used a sheet of blue patterened paper from the Watercolor Wishes Rainbow Petite Paper Pack. The sheets consist of 4 blocks of color – so I used 3 of the blue hues from the blue sheet – super handy for a sketch challenge like this one!

After adhering my stripes to a white panel, I cut it down using an Outside In Stitched Rectangle. I needed it to full cut off the whites at the end where the patterned paper didn’t fully cover the white background so I used a smaller rectangle die. It left a very wide border on an A2-sized cardbase. Hindsight, I should’ve just trimmed the striped panel with a trimmer, but the layout still works! I took a picture of it but ultimately pulled it apart to cut a new panel with thinner strips. What do you like better? Here is a side by side:

I finished by attaching an embossed sentiment from the Butterfly Kisses stamp set. I also added some Prisma Glitter to the top lining of my clouds for a bit of shine and interest.
