Hi Friends!

I’m excited to celebrate Anita Jeram’s 1 year birthday with Colorado Craft Company! To make her special mice special, this release includes extra large mice images in 6″ x 6″ stamp sets. They are so adorable, I simply couldn’t just choose one. So I ended up using images from all three sets and made 3 similar cards using Twinkle Little Star, Falling Star, and A Star Is Born.

I love the way Yana Smakula colors her spotted mice, so I tried to do the same. I used Copic markers to color all the mice and stars from the three sets. The same Copic markers are use for the stars and the mice. Then I ink-blended them all in the same way with varying shades of blues and purples using Distress Oxide Inks.

Browns:  E0000, E30, E31, E33, E37
Pink:  R20
Yellows:  Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23, YR24

My first card uses the Twinkle Little Star set. For the background, I ink-blended Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch. I decided to use a different sentiment for this card and used a sentiment from the Falling Star set.

This second card uses the Falling Star set. Each set has a few loose stars and 1-2 large stars. This card is ink-blended with Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon, and Chipped Sapphire for a darker blend than on the first card.

My final card uses the A Star is Born set. I love the theme of these sets! This card uses Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, and the newly-revealed Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Inks.

All of the panels are sprayed with water, and then splattered with white paint to give it a galaxy/sky look for more interest and texture. I stamped the sentiments on each panel and embossed them with white embossing powder. Then, I finished by attaching the main images (mice and large stars) with foam adhesive, then the smaller ones with liquid adhesive directly to the ink-blended panels.
