I had a crafty zoom session with a friend a few weeks ago. We had a watercolor session using the Season of Joy set and we had a great time. I’m not sure how well I did as a teacher, but I ended up with two identical watercolor panels so I created a set of cards.

I stamped and embossed the images with black ink and clear embossing powder to prepare for watercoloring. For these images, I used Mijello Mission Gold watercolors (Rose Madder, Yellow Ochre No 1, Hooker’s Green, Van Dyke Green, Burnt Umber).

I ended up watercoloring two floral sprays and instead of making a slimline card as I had in the past using this set, I decided to chop up the images for both cards to show that images don’t always need to stay together and to give it more interest.

I ink-blended an A2-sized panel and a slimline panel with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink before trimming them down by 1/4″ inch all around. I then adhered these panels to their respective card bases before placing my image over various sections. I would adhere each section and cut off the overhang, then use the remaining piece to fill other areas of the card.

I adhered each section and cut off the overhang, then used the remaining piece to fill other areas of the card. I used up almost every bit of the images for each card. As you can see, you can definitely fill up both an A2-sized card and a slimline card with just one floral spray.

After I finished the image placement for both cards, I stamped and embossed sentiments for my cards using the All About You set. I adhered them to my card using foam adhesive for lots of dimension.
