The monthly Simon says Stamp card kit is here! The April 2022 Card Kit is party-themed! All celebratory occasions!

I used the stamp and die sets to create my card and used the patterned paper to make it festive. My Balloon Trio is die-cut and then ink-blended with Distress Oxide Inks. This month’s kit comes with the new distress color – Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Ink Pad. I used additional colors to ink-blend the balloons to give them depth and shading.

After ink-blending, I in-lay the little white pieces and held them together on the backside using foam adhesive. Before removing the backing to adhere them down, I stamped balloon strings from the 6″ x 8″ Life Is a Party stamp set over a piece of patterned paper from the American Crafts Damask Love paper included in the kit.

I attached my balloons, layering and positioning them over the stamped balloon strings. The sentiment from the Life Is a Party set as well and is stamped over black cardstock and embossed in white. To give it more interest, I fussy-cut around the letters. I’m quite fussy (ha!) and particular about the sentiments looking this way so I take my time cutting it out to remove the extra black cardstock around the sentiment.

To finish my card, I matted my card over a second piece of patterned paper from the American Crafts Damask Love paper pad. This card was quicker for me to make because the patterned paper did most of the work! I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
