Waffle Flower – Elegant Flowers

Thanks for stopping by today! I want to start off by saying this card is completely inspired by Yana Smakula. I love her work and was googling for ideas for my ink-blended flowers today and came across one of her cards and loved the look of the black background and did something similar with my card. I hope you like it!

I stamped my images from the Waffle Flower Elegant Flowers set in black ink and embossed with clear embossing folder to ink-blend. I like to emboss first before ink-blending because I like my black outlines to stay crisp. I ink-blended with a variety of Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks (they’ll be linked below). I used the new Waffle Flower Shader Brushes in size 3 and they worked wonderfully!

After ink-blending, I die-cut all the flowers and laid them out over a piece of black cardstock. Once I was happy with the layout, I adhered the leaves directly to the black cardstock. Then, I adhered the flowers using foam adhesive. I flipped the card panel over and trimmed off the overhang with a guillotine trimmer.

Next, I splattered the entire card with white paint. While it dry, I embossed a sentiment from the Elegant Sentiments set and die-cut it to adhere it to my card. Yana does a wonderful job embellishing her cards. Since I did lots of splatters, I decided to leave off embellishments. I hope you like it! Thanks for visiting today!
