Hello, Friends!

Every year for Lawn Fawn’s birthday, they design and release a mini stamp set to celebrate. Today’s Inspiration Week product highlights are the Year Eleven and Year Twelve sets. My card today uses Year Eleven and I’ve combined it with the Out of this World set to make a galaxy card.

I started by watercoloring my galaxy using Distress Inks. I started with yellows, blues, pinks and purples and dropped them onto the wet watercolor blob that I outlined and let them spread organically. Then, I went in with dark blue and black and applied them between the colors and kept going back and forth between the colors until I was happy with the saturation and amount of color coming through. All the while, the watercolored area remained wet as I worked.

Distress Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon, Black Soot

I set my watercolor background aside to dry while I stamped and colored my images with Copic markers. You can also dry it with a heat tool, but with so many colors on the panel, I prefer for it to dry on its own as to not disrupt the colors. When it was dry, I die-cut it with the largest of the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Next, I splattered it with white paint.

I finished by stamping the sentiments from the Year Eleven set and adhered it and my images to the watercolored panel using foam adhesive for dimension.
