Pretty Pink Posh has a special release this month and it’s themed for young boys – cars, construction trucks, dinosaurs, etc.! It’s so much fun! These themes are definitely hard to find – especially when my boys were younger. They make for such colorful cards for kids. My card today uses the Construction Trucks and Across the Miles sets. I combined them for a slimline card to create a scene with the Layered Roads stencil set.

I started by stamping and coloring the images from the Construction Trucks and Across the Miles sets I wanted to use. I knew this had to be a tall slimline card because of the way the road stencils are and that limited the number of vehicles I could add to my card, so I definitely planned accordingly.

Reds:  R32, R35, R37, R39
Oranges/Yellows:  Y11, Y13, Y17, YR15
Greens:  YG01, YG06, YG09
Blues:  BG02, BG05, BG07, BG09, B02
Grays:  C0, C2, C4, C6, C8
Browns:  E33, E35, E37

On a slimline panel, I created my background using the Layered Roads Stencils. I started with the open layer and ink-blended the green areas. At the very top, I add some brown for the construction area, then a little soft blue for the sky. Next, I ink-blended the road using gray and black ink. I wanted white road lines for the final layer, so I used Tim Holtz Grit Paste.

The fun part is always adding all the images to create a scene. I adhered the road signs, cones and smaller dirt piles directly to the background using liquid adhesive, then attached the rest of the images with foam adhesive for dimension. To finish, I embossed my sentiment over vellum and adhered it to my card using TINY slivers of foam adhesive.
