I have a super simple card to share today! The Layering Cosmos Stencil from Simon Says Stamp’s Let’s Chill release is simple, but can create colorful cards, as you can see!

Simon Says Stamp just completed their Pawsitively Saturated Ink collection with 15 new colors, including a few purples that I used for my cosmos. There are 2 sizes of cosmos flowers on the Layering Cosmos Stencil. I didn’t have to mask to stencil them. I started with the pinks, then ink-blended the purples in between. I turned the stencils with each flower to make them look like they are growing from a different direction.

I stenciled the centers with a yellow ink, then worked on the stems and leaves. To give the stems different directions, I flipped the stencil. Flipping your stencils stretches their use and creates more interest and diversity in the stems. When done ink-blending, I splattered with panel with dark pink and white paint to give it more texture.

I finished my card today with a sentiment die-cut from the Hello Sunshine die. I die-cut the word using the new Rose Gold Metallic Cardstock and stacked it with two layers of white for dimension. To give my flowers some dimension, I added some glitter to the centers of the flowers.
