Hello friends!
There’s a new monthly card kit from Simon Says Stamp today! The October 2022 Sunflowers and Daisies Card Kit is an awesome one and as always, it is packed full of goodies!
I’ve made two cards to share and hope you enjoy them!
My first card uses the Fresh Daisies Embossing Folder. I embossed the image over Bristol Smooth cardstock and then painted it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I used one color at a time. I did direct pigment to paper for the main daisies, but for everything else, I scribbled the ink onto my glass mat and picked it up with my damp brush. After coloring all the embossed images, I stamped a sentiment and attached my panel over a piece of Cream cardstock.
My second card uses the Sunflower Fields Stamp and coordinating Stencils. It looks vintage because I stamped with a brown ink before stenciling the color using Pawsitively Saturated Inks included in the kit (Citrine and Pearfection). I’m honestly questioning the brown 😬🤔 – what do you think? I do love that there is a coordinating stencil set!
My card today is a 5″ x 7″ card because the image is nice and big. I grounded it with a sentiment strip and added a little twine bow using some twine from the kit. It’s so simple, but I hope you like it!

Love this card. I am not familiar with the use of these markers. They are water based according to their description. The card stock used was not watercolor paper but it holds the marker ok and when you “watercolored” to pull the color out and add more color directly? I watched the other video as well that you linked. I love this technique……. just trying to learn more……… tks!!

Hi Anita! The paper I used was Bristol Smooth. It holds water great for quick applications with water-based markers. I do love using watercolor paper with these markers too when I want more control.
