Simon Says Stamp – Milo Toucan

Winter is still here but I couldn’t help but make a tropical card using the Milo Toucan from the latest Simon Says Stamp Hugs release. I think Milo is adorable and just had to create. I thought he paired perfectly with the Tropical Silhouettes.

I started by stamping images from the Tropical Silhouettes set. I stamped the larger palm leaves directly on a white panel using Tropic, Aegean, Sprout, Field and Cantalope ink. I then stamped monstera leaves using Sage, Pine, and Lemonade inks on a separate piece of paper and die-cut them to create dimension. All colors are blended using some finger daubers for a nice gradient in color.

Milo Toucan was easy to die cut and put together. For the beak, I die cut the parts using yellow and pink cardstock. To get the colors I wanted, I colored the yellow pieces with a Y08 Copic marker and the pink piece with the YR61 Copic marker for a peachy color.

I finished the card by attaching a sentiment from the CZ Reverse Wild About You Sentiment Strips. I hope you like it!
