I’m sharing a card today using an older set that I absolutely love! The Hibiscus Blooms set is a favorite of mine not only because of the beautiful illustration, but because the set also comes with little hummingbirds – you know how much I love hummingbirds if you’ve followed me for a bit. I didn’t use the hummingbirds on my card today, but I don’t love the set any less!

I used a combination of Copics and colored pencil to color my card today. I started first with a base of pale pink ink on the flowers, then added darker colors at the center of the flowers and finished with colored pencil detail.

Copics:  

• Flowers:  RV10, RV55, RV09
• Stamen:  Y02, Y15, YR23
• Foliage:  YG06, YG09, G8

Polychromos:  Alizarin Crimson

For the background, I die-cut an arched window using the Nested Domed Arches dies. After masking the sides of a card base, I ink-blended a gradient from the bottom using Sweets ink.

I finished with an embossed sentiment from the Hibiscus Blooms set – it’s got a coordinating die!
