The Simon Says Stamp Be Bold release debuted last night! I have a fun and colorful card to share today using the Jellybean Background Embossing Folder. This fun embossing folder was released a few weeks ago with the Easter Kit as an introductory/add-on item but is also a part of the Be Bold release. I’ve paired it with new products and hope you like it!
It’s also my birthday today! I have to admit…I ran away from home this year because birthdays have been really difficult for me the past two years. I never mentioned it here because I used to have to work so far in advance that it never felt like a good time to bring it up. I lost one of my nephews to an accidental lacing of Fentanyl the day after my birthday two years ago. Birthdays feel so sad now. It’s true that you never think it’ll happen to you…or to someone you love, until it does. Grief is unforgiving and bitter – it strikes any chance it gets. So this year, I’ve taken my daughter for our first girl’s trip to see a friend in Florida for a few days. I hope the warm air takes my mind off the sadness a bit.
I saved my most colorful and cheerful card from the release to share today and I hope it brings a smile to your face, too!
I embossed a piece of watercolor paper using the Jellybean Background Embossing Folder and slowly watercolored each jellybean. When done, I added Glossy Accents to the red, lime green, and purple jelly beans to give them some more shine. I opted to only do those three colors because I felt doing them all would result in a globby mess. While it sat to dry, I watched a Simon Says Stamp LIVE 😊.
I die-cut the Fancy Happy Birthday sentiment using Holographic Rainbow cardstock to get more color and shine, then finished with some new Dazzling Gems in Lilac, Taffy, and Surf.

Caly, I am so sorry to hear about your nephew! What a terrible loss! I hope you and your daughter have a peaceful few days in Florida. It must be difficult for her as well to have lost a cousin. Being a parent never stops being scary! But I do love your card and I love the unique way of using the embossing folder with water color paper! Thank you for sharing!

The death of your nephew is very sad, but I hope you can believe that he is in the loving arms of family and loved ones who have gone before and wait for us. And out of something bad came something good. A girl trip with your daughter will be a memory that you will both always treasure. Maybe the start of a new tradition?
