Hello friends!

I have a festive birthday card to share today using products from the Simon Says Stamp Sweet Wishes release. Both the cake and balloons are stenciled, so to help them stand out, I adhered them to a darker background.

To start, I ink-blended the Big Birthday Cake Stencils. The Big Birthday Cake Dies allow you to die-cut and ink-blend each component individually so you can piece them together yourself for dimension, if you want, but ink-blended it all together and die-cut the birthday cake as a whole. The sprinkles layer is added with White Opaque Texture Paste.

Next, I ink-blended the balloons using the Layering Ballon Border Stencils. Because I wanted these balloons to stand out more, I decided to fussy-cut them to add over a dark card panel. I used Peacock cardstock and ink-blended it with Raindrop ink. For the confetti and streamers layer from the stencil set, I used Lunar Paste in Slippery When Wet (gold). I did this twice – once on the dark teal panel and also on the the balloon layer so it’s on both elements and looks dimensional.

The sentiments are made from a pairing of the Reverse Everyday Sentiment Strips and Boho Birthday Die.
