Waffle Flower – November Release Blog Hop

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the Waffle Flower November Release Blog Hop!  By popular request, Color Swatches for Watercolors (stamp) is now available from Waffle Flower. This 4×6 stamp set features a 12-grid swatch, 5-circle swatch and words to help you record watercolor info. Also in this release, we have Dotted Tags (die) for the gift-giving season and Holiday Thanks (stampdiecombo) for the Thank You cards to your gift givers; Winter Wishes (stamp) and Cool Dog (stamp) are two fun & easy 2-layer builder stamp sets for some quick greetings cards for winter.

I’ve got two cards to share with you today so let’s jump right in and talk about the first card.  I’m working with the Holiday Thanks set.  This is a larger stamp, so I stamped the entire image (which does not fit on an A2 card panel) on a 4×8 piece of card stock and colored it using Copic markers and planned for a longer card.

Since I was crafting on the go and colored this when I met Nina, the owner of Waffle Flower 2 weeks ago, I didn’t take the time to write down the colors I used – sorry! I used a lot of different colors and when I was done coloring, I added some pale blue around the entire image to help it give the image some added interest.  I apologize, I know you can’t see the pale blue too well in the photos.

For the sentiment, I embossed in white and cut up the words to adhere them wonky willy on the card front. I trimmed the card panel to mat a 4×8 cardbase and finished off the card with some white gel accents.  This stamp set was made to be extra wide so that you can mask/cut off the Xmas tree for a more all-season theme – it’s genius!

For my second card, I used the Winter Wishes stamp set.  This is a solid stamp, so to give the images a variety of color, I used Tombow markers to color in different areas of the stamp before stamping using my MISTI.

When I was done stamping, I went over the image with a damp brush to blend the ink because it’s pretty splotchy when stamped over watercolor paper.  I added some light blue around the images and gel accents to a few places and die cut the image to mat the card over some winter patterned paper that I have.

The sentiment is stamped and embossed in white over black cardstock.  Pretty straight forward on this card though it did take a while to stamp and watercolor/blend the colors.  I hope you enjoyed these projects!
