Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! I was going to add this to my weekly coloring challenge repost cap for later this week but I I felt like it deserves it’s own post! I did my very first watercolor scene!
I had colored all the images and cut them out for the coloring challenge and thought to myself “How am I going to get ALL these koalas on a card?” Overkill? NAH….
Copic Colors used: Baby Koalas-W3, W1; Koalas-W2, W00; Leaves-YG05, G03; Bellies/Inner Ears-E000, E0000; Cheeks-R30; Branch-E41, E34.
When I was done, I decided to watercolor a background. I smooshed some distress inks on a laminated piece of cardstock that I use as a palette and painted on the background – adding several layers. I did the branches and leaves last.
I used Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover, Mustard Seed, Broken China, and Gathered Twigs. I’ve never done this before so I was worried it wouldn’t turn out ok but I think it did once the critters were arranged on the card…and I managed to use them all!
I used a Mama Elephant border die to cut out the card layer and propped a few of the koalas up using foam tape for added dimension and interest. Eep! These koalas are so darn cute!!! I REALLY really hope you like this card because I’m so excited to share it today!
