Welcome to my recap of The Daily Marker 30 day Coloring Challenge for Week 3! If you missed the recap for Week 1, you can view it HERE, and Week 2 HERE. I’m so proud of myself for lasting this long! It really is a huge commitment – for me because I can’t stop after 10 minutes …ha!
Day 15: Lawn Fawn – Manatee-rific
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again – I love mini stamp sets! They are sold at great prices and can be used to make a variety of cute and/or simple cards. This was colored quickly and I even made a card to share.
I wanted to make a bold background for the window I cut out, so I quickly played with some alcohol inks. If you haven’t played with alcohol inks yet – you should try! It’s very easy and fun! I was intimidated at first but I really love how easy it is.
Day 16: Studia Katia – Japanese Peony
I colored this image using Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Disclaimer – I did not change the vibrancy of this image when editing. In fact, I had to desaturate bc it was so bright! These markers are amazing to watercolor with and have amazing results!
The colors I used: 249, 245 (greens), 993 (yellow), 676 (purple), N45 (gray), 725 (pink).
I outlined the entire image when I was done with the gray and blended the color out with a damp brush until it faded. When dry, I added a simple sentiment and some sequins to finish the card.
Day 17: Pretty Pink Posh – Koala Friends
I LOVE Koalas! I was so excited about this new Pretty Pink Posh set and colored it as soon as I got it. I made a card and shared it in THIS post earlier this week.
Day 18: Prismacolor Color Chart
I decided to match swatches for my Prismacolor colored pencils today. Sandy Allnock has a hex chart for them but since I don’t have the full set, I just downloaded a chart for the 72ct tin that I have. I did get a Polychromos hex chart from my friend Rubeena (so sweet of her) so I’ll be coloring that this weeked :).
Day 19: Simon Says Stamp & Mama Elephant – Rain or Shine
This stamp set is a set from last September when Simon Says Stamp does their “Stamptember” event when they collaborate with other companies. They’re produced in limited quantities and once they’re gone, they’re gone. I wish this set were available or that I have it, but I don’t. I actually stamped this in March at Stamping Away and never colored it. I love this stamp set so much!
Day 20: Lawn Fawn – Baked with Love
Every time I’ve seen this set colored in the past, I’ve wanted it…so I got it finally and was excited to get the opportunity to color it today! I’m a sucker for pastels/soft colors, can you tell?
Day 21: Pretty Pink Posh – Wild Rose
I LOVE flowers and I love Pretty Pink Posh! I made a card a few weeks ago using this set, but watercolored the images with Zig. I had stamped these images for both mediums for the Kathy Racoosin Coloring Road Trip in St. Louis in March. I only pre-stamp for the coloring challenges so I’m trying to get through it all. It’s amazing what you can do with 2 shades of pink and 3 shades of green, right?
Wow, guys! Only 9 more days to go before this challenge and the month of JUNE is over! I can’t believe how quickly time is passing. I’m enjoying staying busy with this but I’m also looking forward to the pressure being off (which I create for myself…because there’s really NO pressure to color for this challenge). See you all again soon!
XOXO,
WOW! Caly, you are coloring up the world! I LOVE everything you’ve colored, and you know me — the flowers really HIT me! Hehe! But those darling koalas are so sweet! I really love the Studio Katia and the Pretty Pink Posh flowers and how you’ve colored them. I’ve asked for the Tombow brush markers for my birthday (have to wait though). Hugs! xoxo
