The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge – Week 2

Hi and welcome to my recap of The Daily Marker 30 day Coloring Challenge for Week 2!  If you missed the recap for Week 1, you can view it HERE.  We’re coloring every day in June – just 10 minutes – you can do it!  Coloring has been proven to be great for your blood pressure and reduces stress.

Day 8:  Lil’ Inker Designs:  Love & Honey

For Day 8, I decided to do some no-line coloring using Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils.

Love & Honey Coloring

This definitely took more than 10 minutes but I really enjoyed doing it!  I layered each image with white as a base and then colored each section of the image using dark, medium, and light colors.  Going over the image again with white sometimes is helpful to add highlights.

Polychromo colors used: 101 (white); 143, 151 (blue); 223, 225 (red); 123, 125 (pink/fuschia); 166, 112, 266, 167, 267 (greens); 106 (yellow); 115 (orange)

Day 9:  Lawn Fawn – Toadally Awesome

I colored this cute set hoping to make a card with these sometime soon!

Copic colors used:  RV10, RV02, RV04 (water lilies), YG0000, YG21 (cattails), E41, E21, E33 (log), B0000, B000 (dragonfly), YG11, YG06, G03, G09 (frogs, lily pads), R30 (blush)

Day 10:  Ellen Hutson – Beach Lady

EH - Beach Lady

I used Copic markers to color the scenery in the background and all the images.  Honestly, I colored this one a while ago and posted it for the EH release and I didn’t think to write down the colors for this one – Sorry!

Day 11:  Lawn Fawn – Toadally Awesome

While I had my markers out from the previous day, I decided I would try no-line coloring using Copics.  This was HARD!!!  It’s so different than other mediums (colored pencils or watercoloring) for me.

Toadally Awesome No Line Coloring

I compared my coloring from Day 10 to these and my husband said looking at the no-line coloring images is like looking at the lined coloring without glasses…LOL.  I think I agree with him!  No-line coloring with Copics is definitely a challenge and isn’t my forte!

Day 12:  Lil’ Inker Designs – So Prickly

So Prickly Coloring

These are solid images that I stamped and used colored pencils to add shading and added interest.  It really does add a lot of character to solid-stamped images.

Polychromos colors used:  115, 111 (oranges), 133, 123 (pinks), 267, 167, 278 (greens), 263, 169, 192 (browns), 156 (teal)

Day 13:  Stampin’ Up! – Floral Sentiments

Floral Sentiments

I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the first time in a while for these cards.  These stamps are beautiful and come in a set together for quick cards.  I think before I send, I’ll add some sequins – but the coloring was so quick, it felt like I was cheating because the stamps already have shading details. I think any colors you use are great!  I didn’t write down the colors but you can see that the colors I used are basic primary colors – and you can stretch your Zigs by blending it out as light as you want and making it as bright as you want.

Day 14: Lawn Fawn – One in a Chameleon

LF One in a Chameleon Coloring

Copics used:

These were quick to color so I decided to make quick 4-bar sized cards out of them.  I used a cloud stencil and added some soft clouds and stamped some leaves on the branches also.
