The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge – Week 4

Welcome to my recap of The Daily Marker 30 day Coloring Challenge for Week 4 (with a few extra days)!  If you missed the recap for Week 1, you can view it HERE, Week 2 HERE, and Week 3 HERE.  We did it!  A huge congratulations to Kathy Racoosin for another successful coloring challenge!

What a fun month it has been!  I’m so glad I was able to commit to a month of coloring (but also relieved at the same time!).  I know I wasn’t obligated to color everyday, but I was committed!  Let’s recap the last 9 days of coloring for me!

Day 22:  My Favorite Things – Bitty Bears

Bitty Bears Coloring

I love these little bears!  There are lots of images there to color so I picked out my favorites.

I also made a quick card using the MFT Horizontal Collage Coverup die.

Day 23:  Polychromos Hex Chart

Sandy Allnock makes wonderful hex charts where she puts colors together for you so you can easily identify colors in your stash.  I got the hex chart as a gift from my friend Rubeena.  She’s a coloring challenge ambassador for Kathy Racoosin – helping to spread love and encouragement during the challenge.  Thanks Rubeena – you are so kind and thoughtful! ❤

Before Rubeena surprised me with the hex chart, I had already printed off something I found online – so I colored both at the same time :).

Day 24:   Pretty Pink Posh – Flourishing Fuchsias

Flourising Fushcias Coloring

I like to color flowers true to their colors as much as possible and this was a difficult one!  When I googled them, I noticed how dark the petals were…but they were also very vibrant.  I hope I did these flowers justice with the colors I used!

I also made a card.  If you would like to see the post I did for that on Sunday, please click HERE.

Day 25:  Pretty Pink Posh – Darling Dragonflies

Darling Dragonflies Coloring

After coloring with copic markers, I went over the images with prismacolor colored pencils to add more details and shading on the images.  I think I need to work on trying to make images more whimsical and trying less to make things look real – but it feels hard for me when it’s easy for others!

Prismacolor Colored Pencils used:  929 pink, 945 brown, 905 aqua, 909 green.

I also made a card.  If you would like to see the post I did for that on Monday, please click HERE.

Day 26:  Studio Katia – Blooming Bunch

SK Blooming Bunch coloring 1

This bunch of peonies is so pretty!  I couldn’t decide if I wanted to use multiple colors and if so – which two do I make the same color? So hard to decide!  In the end, I ended up using just one color.  There are many petals on this bunch and I wanted to practice giving the petals more depth.  Next time, I’ll use a darker, more vibrant darkest shade and hopefully, it will give it even more depth.

Day 27: Lawn Fawn – Ahoy, Matey!

I loved these little images so much – I decided to make a Reveal Wheel card.  If you’d like to see that post, please click HERE.

Day 28:  Lil’ Inker Designs – Fancy Feathers

LID Fancy Feathers Coloring

I did some watercolor today using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I colored the black-stamped images first and questioned whether I liked them – so I colored some more using gold-embossed images.

Day 29: Lil’ Inker Designs – Wreath of Roses

I think I love this stamp set – not only is this wreath beautiful…but the sentiments are great!  Saving it for a card I’ll be making for Lil’ Inker Designs in July.  Stay tuned!

Day 30:  Rosa Rugosa

I won a watercolouring book and saved it for a quick coloring project in case in ran out of things to color.  I have plenty to color – but I felt that I wanted to do something on a larger scale instead of the tiny images I have been coloring the past few weeks.

I decided to color with distress inks.  I felt like a complete amateur when I painted this.  Of course, I’m no expert, but I’m also my worst enemy when it comes to my work.  My painting can definitely use some work and I need to play with these inks more for watercoloring.

I may have used too much water? (palm in face).

Thank you SO much for following along with me this month.  It truly has been a WILD month!  Between the Leading Lady series for Winnie & Walter and the Kathy Racoosin coloring challenge, I thought I might have committed more that I could handle.  But we made it!   If I could survive June – I could survive anything (craft-wise)!

Until next time,

XOXO,
