Hello!
I’m back today with another Pretty Pink Posh card. As soon as I got my last PPP haul, I instantly regretted not purchasing the new Geraniums set…so I got it and now, I’m happy :).
I decided to color these images using Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils. I stamped the images using InkOn3 Fadeout ink to do some no-line coloring. To be honest – this requires a lot of patience and commitment. I’m no expert. If you want to see some amazing work using colored pencils, you should check out Emily Midgett. She does magic with her coloring and I doubt I will ever be able to do what she does…but I’m happy to share my progress and what I do make!
Lookie! I remembered to take a photo before I cut it all up! Sorry the color is not too great – hard to bring photos to life when you snap a candid photo at 11pm. If you’ve never fussy-cut no-line colored images…let me tell ya…that was scary. I was so worried to mess up all the work and time I spent coloring them!
You can see the colors I used above. Greens: 167, 170. Pinks: 123, 226. It’s very important to use white to add highlights – a color you’ll probably wear down the quickest.
To put together my card, I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock by Stampin’ Up! and cut it to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and drew a border with lines and stitch marks using a white gel pen. Then I centered the sentiment from Simple Sayings: Life – another new set by PPP – in the center and embossed it in white.
I then layered and arranged the geraniums and leaves on this card layer and adhered them down when I was happy with the placement. To finish the card, I added a few dew drops – also from PPP.
