Sorry I don’t have a patriotic card for today! I colored these feathers last week for the coloring challenge to prep for my Lil’ Inker Designs card today.

This is the sketch for this week:
And this is what I came up with:
I masked off the two sides and ink blended with distress oxides. At first, I did a blend of Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Worn Lipstick – but in the end, I sponged the entire thing with Wilted Violet.You can see the color variations behind the vellum.
I layered the feathers in black under the vellum to soften the look and added the gold-embossed ones on top. This card is dark for me…but it helps the design pop with the sketch that I’m working with this week. I hope you like it!
