Have you seen the new Simon Says Stamp You Are Loved Release?  I’ve made a card today using one of the new dies called Thinking of You.  I combined it with the Even More Spring Flowers stamp set that I have not yet gotten a chance to use yet.  

I started by stamping and coloring the images using Copic markers (RV11, R83, R56, G02, G16, Y15).  When I was done coloring, I fussy cut the images and added Nuvo Glitter drops in Honey Gold.  I set that aside to dry while i worked on the background.

For the background, I decided to do some watercolor smooshing.  On a laminated piece of paper that I use as a watercolor palette, I used Distress Markers in Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves to apply some color – covering an A1-sized area.  I spritzed it with water and used a piece of watercolor cardstock and dabbed it over the wet ink to pick up the ink.  Some people like to pick up the color with a piece of acetate to transfer it to the watercolor paper, but I like to apply it directly with the watercolor cardstock too.  When I was happy with the ink transfer, I used my heat tool to dry it and added splatters of white and black ink.

While that dried, I die cut the sentiment.  I cut the Thinking of You die in 2 layers of black cardstock and 1 layer of gold glitter cardstock, layering them to add dimension.  I arranged my flowers in the bottom left corner and added the sentiment in the top right corner to finish off my card.
