Hello Friends!

I’m joining in a blog hop celebration to help celebrate a new line that just became available to Spellbinders – Destinations China by Lene Lok. 

These dies are inspired by the Chinese and Asian culture and I felt a draw to it.  My usual cards, my family would probably not find pretty, but I am guessing they’d love cards made using the Destinations China product line…because they’re kind of Asian…lol.  Okay…maybe A LOT Asian.  

Gold and red are classic celebratory colors in the Asian culture – especially for weddings and during the Lunar New Year.  In fact, it’s exactly what I had in mind when I saw these new products.  So I used gold foil cardstock – not glitter (that’s not Asian…ha!).  

To create the background, I used PINK cardstock.  Then I used Candied Apple and Fired Brick Distress Oxide inks to add color – giving it a glow in the center where there is less ink.  So pretty – I’ve been obsessed with this technique lately.  

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s Lunar Extras stamp set (no surprise right?)…again with the Asian Lunar New Year’s celebration theme.  I thought it was perfect and brings my vision for this card to life.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white over black cardstock and centered it towards the top.  That’s a wrap for a pretty simple (pretty and simple) card!  I hope you enjoyed that!  I really appreciate you stopping by and I hope you’ll find lots of inspiration from this blog hop.  Enjoy your day!
