Hi, Friends!

I’m excited to join Altenew today, celebrating the release of their new Artist Markers – Set D! There is a blog hop so if you didn’t start from the beginning, be sure to head to the Altenew Card Blog first. This is my favorite set yet because it contains my favorite pinks, purples and teals! The colors of the markers coordinate with the Altenew inks: Rose Quartz, Puffy Hearts, Purple Wine, Cosmic Berry, Sand Dunes, Rocky Shore, Mocha, Espresso, Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Lagoon, and Emerald. I used the Flower Vine set for today’s project. I started by positioning my stamps in my MISTI and stamping the images using a Copic friendly ink. I cleaned the stamps after stamping, but did not remove them from the MISTI because I knew I wanted to emboss the images once they are colored. (In case you didn’t already know, coloring over embossed images can damage your nibs.) I colored the flowers using the pinks/purples and the foliage using the teals. After coloring, I returned the panel back to the MISTI where the stamps are still lined up perfectly. I re-stamped with Versamark ink so that I could emboss the image with gold embossing powder.

For the background panel, I pulled out my Altenew mini ink pads using the coordinating colors (Rose Quartz, Puffy Hearts, Purple Wine, and Cosmic Berry) and ink blended a separate A2-sized panel from light to dark, blending the colors as I went. When I was done ink-blending, I added a few splatters of water, white ink and some white iridescent shimmer.

To complete my card, I added foam adhesive to the back of the floral vines and adhered them to the ink-blended panel. The sentiment is then stamped on black paper and embossed with white embossing powder.
