Hello and welcome today’s Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush Markers Release Blog Hop! Be sure to head to the Altenew Blog if you didn’t start there.
I’ve created a vibrant card using the Totally Tropical stamp and die set and I used all but two colors from the set.
I stamped the images using Versafine Vintage Sepia pigment ink on watercolor cardstock and then applied the colors directly to the images where I wanted them to appear the darkest. Then using a damp watercolor brush, I dragged the pigment out to create the lighter colors.
After “shading” the images with the first layer, I went back a second time, adding direct pigment to draw the bolder lines on the flowers and leaves to make it bolder and more vibrant.
When I was done coloring, I die-cut the images and arranged the floral spray over a card base ink-blended with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink. Then I splattered the images with some white paint and attached a sentment from the same stamp set.

The watercolor markers are really bright and vibrant and I love the card you created with them. The time it takes to let the first layer dry is well worth the resulting darker color you get when added.
