Hi, Friends!
Welcome to an all new Release Blog Hop for Altenew! This month’s products are wonderful and I hope you’ll enjoy my project today using the Everlasting Happiness stamp set. The images are large and don’t fully fit on an A2-sized card – but they lend for creative layouts, and of course, larger cards.

I’ve decided to watercolor with Tombow Dual Brush Pens for today’s card using no-line coloring. I first stamped the images using a light ink on Bristol Smooth cardstock, then I applied some ink directly to the cardstock in the areas where I wanted the color more concentrated (in the nooks and crannies or outer edges of petals). Then using a lightly damp brush, I pulled the color out and blended moving towards the white/lighter areas of the petal I was working on. It takes a lot of time working through each one, but I love how it turns out and Tombow’s intensity in color.

After I was done with the images, I outlined everything with a gray marker – then blended that out just a tad to give the images faux dimension. For some additional interest, I splattered the entire panel with watered-down black and white acrylic paint. The floral centers are dabbed with some gold Nuvo drops and the sentiment is embossed and matted over black cardstock to frame it.

So pretty Caly. Where did you get the escoda brush. How does it compare to the black velvet which I’ve noticed you use as well. I know a big difference in price. Thanks.

The Escoda brush is from Amazon. I like the travel ones but the weight isn’t centered for me so I thought I would try the wood handles. The hair is not as soft as the black velvet-it bounces back a lot more than the black velvet. Black velvet is still my favorite, but you’ve gotten to straighten the hair out as you work, if you know what I mean. Sorry if that’s confusing to understand!
