It’s time for a new Simon Says Stamp Release!  This is my first card in 3 weeks because I’ve been busy moving and unpacking.  Woohoo!  The Big Birthday Greetings set has lots of large sentiments and a few images.  Today, I’ve decided to do some repeat stamping and ink blending for a simple but fun and colorful card.

I started by cutting a card panel for slimline card that’s 4” x 8.5”.  I prepped my cardstock with an anti-cling powder and stamped my candles along the bottom to emboss with white embossing powder.

Did you know that Hero Arts is coming out with a line of reactive inks (like Distress Oxides)?  I got to use them on this card.  I apologize they’re not available yet – but they’re on a few online stores and you can put them on your wishlist!  I ink-blended Pool Party, Thistle, Taffy, and Lemon Drop ink to give color to the embossed images and went over the flame areas with an orange colored pencil to give it some added interest.

The sentiment is stamped and embossed in black before I splattered some water droplets and the same inks all around the card to fill in the white space and add some interest to the card.
