I don’t think to play with texture pastes much. For a publication I did for Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine, I created two cards. The focus was on stencils. I’ll share the second one at a later date since the techniques are different for each card. Today’s card focuses on the use of glimmer paste.

I began by adhering the Simon Says Stamp Leaves stencil with temporary tape over a white A2 card panel. Using Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste, I spread the paste all over with a craft knife. Then using Golden Crystal Nuvo Glimmer Paste, I spread them over the top of each leaf only for some extra interest.

While the glimmer paste panel was drying, I die-cut another set of leaves using the Clustered Leaves die with white cardstock. I used some of the negative die-cut leaves and colored them with a BG0000 Copic marker to add some color. When the paste panel was dry, I used the same color to go around all the leaves to give it some additional color.

I cut my die cut in half so that there was no overhang on my card. I knew I would cover up the cut line with a sentiment strip so it was ok to cut. The sentiment is from the Tiny Words stamp set and is embossed with white embossing powder over black cardstock. The card is adorned with some light blue jewels and matted over light blue cardstock.
