It’s 2nd World Bee Day! To celebrate, Pretty Pink Posh is a sponsor for today’s blog hop to support bees and raise public awareness of the importance of bees and apicultural products.

It’s an extremely busy time for me personally. I’ve decided this month to step away from crafting as much as I can to focus on my family. This month, I’m going to be sharing all of my recent publications and it happens to work out for World Bee Day! It’s been amazing to make card for publications for the companies I work for as well as for myself. I’m sharing a card that was published in the Die-Cutting Essentials Magazine in January (Edition 46) for Pretty Pink Posh.

The focus was the Stacked Edges 2 die set. You can see a sneak of the next card I’ll share but today, let’s talk about the Bee Friends Shaker card.

I started by cutting 9 strips of the honeycomb pattern and ink-blending Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink on the edges to add color. I ran an A2-sized piece of cardstock through my Xyron Creative Station to turn it into a sticker and carefully adhered the strips to it.

I trimmed the panel to cut off the overhang. Then I used the Scallop Hexagon die to cut out the shaker window. On a top folding card base, I also ink-blended Wild Honey Distress Oxide Ink and splatted it with water for interest under the shaker opening as well as the frame created from the die-cut to help it stand out more.

I filled the shaker portion with various sequins and sealed up the shaker using foam adhesive. I stamped, colored, and die-cut the bees from the Bee Friends set and adhered them over the panel. The sentiment is stamped directly over the hexagon strips at the bottom.
