Simon Says Stamp – Embossed Carolyn Stencil

Today I’m sharing my second stencil publication for Scrapbook & Cards Today, which was published in March. The publication focused on cards made with stencils. My first card used glimmer paste – if you’ve missed the post and want to see it, you can view it here. Today’s card uses embossing.

I started by taping down the Carolyn Stencil from Simon Says Stamp over some white cardstock. Then I applied Versamark ink over the entire panel. I carefully removed the stencil and covered it with Sparkle embossing powder, then heat set it.

To add some color back the card, I ink-blended Spun Sugar and Abandoned Coral to the center of the stenciled design. For the sentiment, I die-cut Hey Gorgeous in black and it’s halo in vellum.

After adhering the sentiment to the card, I also added a few pink jewels. Then I matted the card over a coordinating cardstock to finish. It’s a very quick and simple card, but your design can change drastically with color choices. I hope you’ll give it a try with a stencil that you have!
