Hello there, Friends!

I’m happy to be hopping along with Altenew today to celebrate their August Stamp/Die/Stencil Release. Be sure to check out the Release Collection Page to see all of the new products! Today, I’m using the Antique Roses and Playful Plumeria sets. Both wonderful layering sets and I hope you’ll like today’s cards!

My first card uses the Antique Roses set. I’ve chosen two different colors of roses and stamped them using Altenew inks (for the red rose: Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Heart Beat, Vineyard Berry, and Grapevine; for the pink roses: Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, Purple Wine, Cosmic Berry, and Grapevine; for the leaves: Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen).

After stamping and cutting my images, I arranged them on a sand card panel and splattered the entire card with white and black ink splatters to give the card some interest and texture.

To finish this card, I added some jewels and stamped a sentiment on black cardstock from the Flower Vine stamp set and embossed it with white embossing powder.

My second card uses the Playful Plumeria set. It’s a tropical flower, so I chose bright colors and tried to imitate the dual colors of true plumerias.

To create the dual colors, I stamped the first, most solid layer using Frosty Pink. The second layer is the bright pink that you see and is stamped with Coral Berry. I concentrated on stamping the ink around the outer edges of the petals and used an ink dauber to remove the ink evenly to create a soft transition into the yellow. The yellows I used are Maple Yellow and Honey Drizzle. The leaves: Firefly Grass Field, Shadow Creek.

I ink-blended a white card panel with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink and also stamped the solid leaf images to create a silhouette spray before arranging my images on top to create my card. The sentiment is stamped directly on the card in the lower left hand corner in black ink.
