It’s time for another fun Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! The current theme is Fun with Dies and it’s right up my alley! I LOVE Lawn Fawn’s interactive dies so I got the opportunity to make a Flippin’ Awesome card!
I used several stamp and die sets for my card today because I envisioned a car riding through the 4 seasons. I made a card similar to this idea at the end of 2018 with a double slider card. You can read that post HERE.
Today’s Flippin’ Awesome card shows all four seasons, one on each flip panel, starting with winter. I used the add-on die to frame my flipping mechanism and used the bottom portion of my card panel to add road for my car using the Slide on Over die.
Each of my flipped panels and elements are die-cut using Lawn Fawn patterned papers. I tried to get them to coordinate from several different patterned paper packs, appropriate for each season that I was creating, with the exception of the matted panel, which I ink-blended with Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers for a consistent element on each panel.
Once everything was die-cut, I stamped all my images and began coloring with Copic markers. There are lots of images so I didn’t write down my Copic combinations this time – sorry about that! After die-cutting all of my images, I added white gel highlights and them sorted my images for each season.
I adhered my images to each panel, then stamped the sentiment from the Happy Village stamp set on a simple white strip that I blended lightly around the edges with some residual Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink for some color. The final element to add was my road and sliding car. I cut a strip of cardstock 3/4″ wide and adhered it over my card panel at the bottom, then used my straight Slide on Over die to create a track for my car. I used a Slider Element for my car to slide on, but you can also use foam adhesive.
Now, it was time to assemble my card. I adhered my mechanism to the Flippin’ Awesome Add-On scallop frame and attached it to my card panel using foam adhesive. Once I adhered my car to the slider mechanism, I added foam adhesive to the back of the entire panel to give the sliding car adequate room to move.
I also added a gift card pocket on the final panel to finish my card. I hope you enjoyed this! I love that the car is traveling through the seasons to get home! Time passes so quickly and before we know it…another year has passed! I think we all need reminders to slow down and enjoy each day!
