Christmas is really a full season for many of us, not a single day, so if you’re still thinking of whipping up some holiday cards, we’ve got you covered. Hits & Highlights this month is all about bringing the feel of winter to your holiday with a cool palette featuring blues, pinks, and purples — bring a little shiver of delight with wintry colors evocative of falling snow and twinkling lights.
To incorporate my blues, pinks, and purples along with lots of twinkle and snow, I’ve combined a few products to create my Joy Wreath today. I die-cute the Joy Wreath Die-namics out of Tickled Pink, Blue Breeze, and Grapesicle cardstock.
After die-cutting, I clipped apart the branches flocked them using clear adhesive and Diamond Dust (a glitter product that looks like tiny shards of glass). It adds a lot of shine and dimension to my foliage.
My background is ink-blended with a mixture of Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks. Then I used one of the card-sized Confetti stencils to add Versamark Ink to emboss with White Puff embossing powder. I trimmed my panel 1/8″ on all sides to clean up the edges and then began layering my different colored branches down to form my wreath.
The more I added, the more dimension there was to my wreath because of the Diamond Dust that I added to my branches. After adhering them, I die-cut the berries using white glitter card stock and adhered them in various places on my wreath. The final thing I did was cut the word Joy from the same die set using Gold Sparkle card stock and adhered it to the center of my wreath using a double layer of foam adhesive.
