Hey, Friends!
I’m stopping in today to share two cards made using the Essentials by Ellen Life is a Circus set. This set will be available on March 8th! I took images from this set and created a set with bold and colorful backgrounds using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
My first card is created with 4 swinging monkeys. I stamped and colored them using Copic Markers (Monkeys: E00, E30, E31, E35, R20). After die-cutting, I cut slits between the monkeys’ arms so I could slide in the tails to look like they were holding on to them as they swung.
My background is created with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers (Deep Violet, Persian Blue, Wine Red, Yellow). I scribbled a bit of color to the left, then used a damp brush to pull the water to the right and allowed the colors to blend organically.
I lightly splattered my background panel with white ink once it was dry. Then I attached my monkeys using foam adhesive to give it some dimension. Finally, I stamped my sentiment in the bottom right hand corner with black ink.
My second card uses the same techniques. I stamped and colored my elephant, his stand, and ball using Copic markers then die-cut him before setting him aside to work on the background.
Yellows: Y11, Y18, Y38
Reds: R22, R27, R29
Grays: C0, C2, C4
This time, I used only the Persian Blue Zig marker to add layers of ink – drying between each layer to get more texture. Then I added the image using foam adhesive and stamped my sentiment once more in black.
