My Favorite Things – Birthday Challenge – Floral Focus

Hi, Friends!

Every month, MFT hosts a Birthday Challenge – to inspire you with your birthday cards with a theme. This month, it’s flowers! I’ve used the Floral Focus set to make my birthday card today – it’s my favorite floral set from MFT! I love that the die cuts the entire image out…no rearranging needed!

I created today’s card with Copic markers and Distress Oxide Inks! Copics can be tricky – especially for flowers like magnolia that don’t have saturated colors throughout – so I carefully flicked the more saturated colors at the centers of each petal – and mostly on the outside of each petal.

Copic colors used:
Magnolia:  RV000, RV11, R85, R56
Small Blooms:  V000, V01, V04
Yellow:  Y17
Browns:  E31, W5
Small Leaves:  YG61, YG63, YG67
Large Leaves:  G43, G46

My background is ink-blended over white cardstock with Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves – one of my all time favorite combinations! After ink-blending, I attached my image with foam adhesive, then splattered it lightly with white paint. I embellished my card with clear confetti before embossing and attaching my sentiment.

I hope you liked this project! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
