My Favorite Things – Icing on the Cupcake Card Kit

Hi, Friends!

MFT released a new Card Kit yesterday! It’s all about cupcakes and sprinkles and I hope the projects we are sharing inspire you! I’ve got two cards to share with you today. Let’s talk about the first one!

I’ve made a shaker card with the Cupcake Shaker Pouches for today’s project. My cupcake bases are die-cut from Natural card stock and ink-blended with Cotton Candy and Tropical Teal ink over Tickled Pink and Summer splash card stock.

I lined the bottom of my card panel with a strip of confetti patterned paper using the Sweet Celebration Paper Pack. I ink-blended it with some purple to define a line and added my sentiment from the Sugar-Coated Sentiments stamp set. Then I filled my shaker with some plastic confetti before sealing my shaker components. I also die-cut the cherries and added clear lacquer over them to give them dimension and shine. I finished by adding these cherries to my card and also added a die-cut heart between my cupcakes.

I’ve added the stencil and confetti elements to my card today to show another idea for the kit. After die-cutting and ink-blending all my cupcakes and bases, I used the stencil to create my confetti background using the same inks to coordinate.

My cupcakes are adhered over vellum using foam adhesive, then then attached to my stenciled background panel with more foam adhesive for extra dimension. I stamped my sentiment and attached it to the bottom of my card . To finish, I adhered colored confetti over my cupcake and added some cherries that I covered in lacquer for dimension and shine!

Instead of our usual countdown, the kit is already available so you can shop now!!
