Goodness, it feels like it’s been FOREVER since I blogged a card. Ever since this COVID-19 outbreak, I’ve lost all motivation to craft. I’ve really enjoyed hanging out with my family and feel a tad rusty with card-making. As you know, many companies have had to pause their business through this time. As designers, we are trying to keep moving forward to help bring positivity and creativity whenever we can. With that said, MFT is pushing forward with challenges to inspire you to play along and create!
I made a video for my card today and it was on the MFT YouTube Channel yesterday if you’d like to check it out!
Today’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge features a pennant with ribbons and I pictured an ocean themed card. For today’s card, I’m using the Mermazing set and emulating the ocean ribbons using the Drifts & Hills stencil with some ink-blending.
I stamped and colored my images with Copic markers before die-cutting and setting them aside to work on my pennant.
Purples: BV00, BV02, BV04, BV08
Teals: BG11, BG34, BG13
Pinks: RV10, RV81, R83, R85, R56
Skin: E000, E00, E51, E11, R20
Rock: E81, W2, W5, W7
Hair: E42, E35, E37, E49
My solid-stamped images are inked with Coral Crush, Razzle Berry, Green Room, and Field Day inks.
I used the Hip, Hip, Hooray Die-namics to to die-cut my pennant after ink-blending the panel with Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon. I then sprayed the panel with water and white paint to add texture.
I then added my pennant to a card base using foam adhesive. I stamped and embossed my sentiment over Blu Raspberry card stock first before adhering my images down. To embellish, I added a few dew drops to mimic bubbles.
I hope you enjoyed this card! I appreciate you stopping by today!
