Hey, Friends!
Welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Crafty Hugs Release Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be a part of this one. There are lots of fun new products and I’ve got two new cards to share with you in addition to the one I shared release night! There’s also lots of inspiration in the Simon Says Stamp Crafty Hugs gallery. Anyone can share projects to the galleries so don’t be shy! You can also find the entire release HERE.
In case you missed it, I shared a card made using the new Peony Bouquet background stamp. I had a lot of fun watercoloring this one. If you like to read about the details, you can view that post HERE.

My first card today uses two new products – the Etched Linear Heart as well as the You Have My Heart dies.

I started by stamping half panels with the Quilted Hearts background stamp. Then I ink-blended each panel with two colors – you can’t see it too well bc there is so much texture on each heart, but I used the following Distress Oxide Inks: Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac.

After ink-blended, I die-cut each heart and layered them over each other to create my layout. To secure them in place, I attached double sided foam adhesive to the back, then attached it to a white panel that is 4.75″ x 6.75″ to mat a 5″ x 7″ card base.

My sentiment is die-cut from vellum and black cardstock using the You Have My Heart dies. I attached it over my hearts and then embellished my card with some clear droplets.

My second card uses the So Far So Good stamp set. I started with a light blue piece of cardstock and stamped the large sentiment in the center. I embossed it in white before masking off the area around the sentiment to ink-blend Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks to create a glow. Before removing the mask, I splattered the panel with water to give it some texture.

I trimmed this panel to mat my A2-sized card base and attached it using foam tape for lots of dimension. To finish, I added an embossed sub-sentiment and some more clear droplets.

I hope you enjoyed these cards! This is truly a wonderful release and I’m so happy to be a part of it! Thanks so much for joining me today!
