I’m back again with these adorable Holly Jolly Cardinals from MFT. I shared rainbow cards a week ago. I had die-cut a bunch of them and I had more to create with so I made two more cards using these cardinals. If you missed it, here’s a photo of those rainbow cardinals again:
For today’s cards, I’ve simplified it quite a bit using only red cardinals and made A2-sized cards.
After piecing together my cardinals, I added Unicorn Dust to their hats using Glossy Accents as an adhesive, white gel highlights and pink Copic accents to their cheeks and bellies (R00, R01).
I used two different shaped dies to create frames for my cards and used fun patterned paper from the MFT Positively Peppy Paper Pack. I attached the frames with foam adhesive to give them dimension and adhered the branches directly to the background.
The cardinals are attached to the center of the frames using foam adhesive to match the height of the frames. Then I adhered holly and berries to the branches. The sentiments are then stamped and embossed from the Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set.
I hope you enjoyed these cards! These cardinals are so cute and I have to admit, it’s a lot easier and quicker to make cardinals with only a few cardstock colors! I made it a huge undertaking to do the rainbow one above.
