Simon Says Stamp – December 2020 Card Kit

The Simon Says Stamp December 2020 Card Kit is here! If you love vintage holidays, you’ll love this kit! Included are vintage-themed ephemera and patterned paper as well as a beautiful stamp set and adorable die.

My card today uses the Candy Cane Heart Die from the set combined with a few images from the Joyful Season stamp set. I die-cut my candy cane from cardstock provided from the kit (Lipstick Red and Neenah Solar White 80lb) and pieced them together.

I stamped the holly acorns from the stamp set and colored them with Copic markers (G21, G24, G28, R22, R24, R29, E30). I fussy cut the images use use them as accents for my candy canes. For the background, I used a sheet of patterned paper from the kit and ink-blended it a little around the edges to give it more color (using Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink).

I centered and spaced the hearts on my background panel and attached them with foam adhesive to give them dimension. Next, I die-cut the strings using gold glitter cardstock and attached them – trimming off the excess. To finish, I embellished each of the candy cane hearts with holly and acorns and then attached my embossed sentiment from the Joyful Season set.
