Concord & 9th – Merry Mantle

Hello again, Friends!

This year has been a wild one and typically, I send out holiday cards for them to be received by Thanksgiving. I don’t think that will be happening this year. Family photos are not taken – which means there will be no photos or photocards. I’m trying to convince myself that it is OK to not put so much pressure on myself! But I’m trying to use holiday sets as much as I can to send cards to close family and friends. Today’s card uses the Merry Mantle set from Concord and 9th.

I created a slimline card using this set in September when I was a guest. Here’s a photo of it to recap in case you missed it!

I used similar colors today but simplified my card for an A2 sized version with just the mantle and hanging socks. I stamped and colored my images with Copic markers and then fussy cut the hanging socks since this bundle of socks does not come with coordinating dies.

Grays: C0, C2
Reds: R43, R46, R59
Greens: G40, G43, G46
Browns: E23, E25, E27

I wanted it framed over a background – nothing screams holidays like read buffalo plaid to me! So I used the Plaid Background to stamp over Poppy cardstock using black ink. It’s pretty bold, so to soften it under my mantle, I added a piece of vellum to help draw the eye more to the stockings.

I attached my stockings and mantle over the vellum using foam adhesive, then used another layer of foam adhesive under the vellum to adhere to the plaid background gives it lots of dimension! To finish, I die-cut the word “noel” from glitter cardstock and adhered that.
