The Greetery – Macrame Hoop Wreath

Hi, Friends!

I love The Greetery and haven’t been able to play with their products for a few months. I made the point to make some time to create before the year’s over and want to share a project with you from their latest release. If you love the boho, dreamcatcher, macrame theme, you’ll love the entire release. The Greetery is a weakness for me. Everything they release is like a collectible item! I’m not exaggerating – I want it all!

I combined a few products for my card today. Let’s talk about the background first. I used the Macrame Openwork Base die to die-cut the three slotted bands, then I die-cut a few Macrame Borders & Tassels to place over each of those elements to give them texture and interest.

All inks used today are Distress Oxide: Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick, Seedless Preserves Festive Berries, Peacock Feathers, Bundled Sage, Iced Spruce, Pine Needles, Gathered Twigs.

To create my dreamcatcher/wreath, I die-cut and stamped my flowers and foliage using the Hoop Wreath Stamp and Die sets. Using a sticky mat in my MISTI really helps make sure the pieces don’t shift for layered images. Next, I die-cut the Hoop & Fringe parts. The hoop is cut from gold foil cardstock for a gold ring and the fringe in white that I dipped in gold embossing powder and ink-blended just a bit with some residual ink from the blooms.

To finish, I ink-blended a piece of cardstock lightly with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink before die-cutting the Catching Snowflakes Die to wrap around thee gold ring. I adhered the wreath and fringe onto my background using very small strips of foam adhesive to give it lots of dimension, then layered the foliage and flowers over the dreamcatcher.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! It may not be over for everyone but I will continue to pray for good health safety. Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. I love, love the background you created and the beautiful, colorful spray of florals. I know just what you mean by your weakness for The Greetery. It’s my favorite company. I’ve loved every release but this latest is one of my very favorites. I’m making time this week to play with many sets I haven’t been able to, through the holidays. Thank you Caly for sharing your very beautiful card! 💖😊💖

  2. Caly – you card is fabulous! I was using the hoop wreath die myself today for the first time and see so many possibilities, but your card is a show stopper! Your flowers are what really caught my attention because they look so realistic – you must be doing something special to make them look shaded – would love to know! Thanks for sharing your very inspiring card! P.S. – The Greetery is an addiction! 🙂

    1. Hi Charlene! I’m so glad you like my card. The Greetery is definitely an addiction and I wish I had time everyday to create with the product! I love adding a darker shade to the outer edges of the stamp and stamping a second or third time – I hope you find that helpful! You can do the same with stencils and I’ll be sharing a video soon!
