Simon Says Stamp – Snowflake Season

Hey Friends!

Winter is in full force here in Kansas City! Thought I’d share a snowflake card – my favorite winter element on cards!

I watercolored a panel using Distress Inks using Festive Berries, Wilted Violet, and Peacock Feathers. I layered the colors and dried with each layer to get a more textured look. After drying with my heat tool, I ran the panel through my laminator – it helps straighten the panel so I can emboss better. I stamped the snowflakes from the Snowflake Season set using white embossing powder.

After die-cutting the snowflake images, I set them aside to work on a background panel to coordinate. I cut one out using a Stitched Rectangles die. Using the same Distress Ink colors, I ink-blended from one corner to the other before attaching the snowflakes.

To finish, I embossed a sentiment from the set in gold and adhered it to my card using foam adhesive to match the height of my corner snowflakes.

I hope you enjoyed this card!

  1. Hola, Caly! Such a beautiful card! I love snowflakes, which is funny because I live in San Antonio, Texas, and we were 79*F today with sunny skies. Old man Winter is about to ruin our sun tan weather by sending us some freezing weather. Okay, it doesn’t compare, but, for us, it’s painful. haha haha The freezing weather will only last the weekend. We’ll be 72*F the next day! Texas weather! Stay warm!

  2. You are more than welcome to come thaw out with us! Or better said, to come sun tan with us. 😎🌞 We will be scary cold this weekend, dipping into the low 20’s overnight. That is extremely rare for us, but we’ll be running the A/C soon enough. Stay warm and come visit San Antonio. Okay, once the virus dies. We’re a little chubby, but we’re nice people. Great food, too, which explains the chubbiness. haha haha
Your cards are always beautiful, Caly.💜💜💜

      1. Yeah, this pandemic has caused a lot of chubbiness. More of us to love. 😀 When they announced the 1B group of people could get vaccinated, it includes obese people. I told my mother, “Well, that’s all of San Antonio! They should just say that everyone in San Antonio now qualifies.” 😂😂😂 haha haha Be safe and stay warm, my friend. If you ever come through San Antonio, let me know and I will gladly show you around.
