Confession – I love the Color Me Happy dies and have been wanting to use them, but have also been putting it off knowing how time consuming it will be to die-cut all the little pieces. I did it!!!!! I can’t tell you how much fun I had doing it despite how much time it took, and the 4 year old hijacking my first box and crayons.

All the cardstock here, except the royal blue is from Concord & 9th – such beautiful shades! I may have snuck in a few shades for the loose crayons for my daughter, but officially, the mini card and slimline card are mine.

The Crayon boxes are created using the Mini Gift Box dies. I hand cut the green triangles and stripes to decorate it like a Crayon box. It’s so easy to put together!

My mini card for my box is created by lining up 5 crayons across a card base and than adding a second layer on top using foam adhesive for dimension. I simply layered two layers of the die-cut “for you” word to finish it off. I think the loose crayons are fun for my daughter Lyla and she was super excited about it!

For my slimline card, I lined up my crayons at a diagonal on a panel, adhered them on a thin piece of cardstock to hold them together because chopping off the ends. Not going to lie – it hurt my heart here cutting off all those slivers of black cardstock that i adhered down. It was tedious work!

I thought I’d keep this one simple by attaching only two of the black worded center pieces and leaving the others blank. What do you think? Too plain? I often over-do it…but since it was after midnight when I finished this card, I called it good.

I hope you like it!!! I think these are fun to make for teachers and classmates – if you don’t mind a lot of die-cutting and gluing. I think it’s worth it!
