Gina K. Designs – Peaceful Violets

Hi, Friends!

I’ve got another watercolor card to share with you using gorgeous illustration from Hannah Drapinski! This Peaceful Violets set from Gina K. Designs is beautiful! I was a little intimidated at first but once I started coloring, it really wasn’t as bad as I thought – I was mostly intimidated by the different colors of violets. One petal at a time!

I stamped the flowers and foliage individually and watercolored them using Daniel Smith Watercolors.

Colors used:
Violets: Carbazole Violet, Quinacridone Purple, Quinacridone Lilac
Foliage: Hooker’s Green
Centers: Quinacridone Gold

For my background, I ink-blended Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink. I arranged the images first and adhered the foliage and budded stems directly to the panel, then added the flowers with foam adhesive. Next, I stamped the sentiment.

I masked the sentiment off and splattered the whole panel with white paint. Then I masked off the flowers too and splattered the rest of the areas with green paint. To finish, I embellished my card with Gina K. Designs gels in Angel Aura. I hope you like it!
