Simon Says Stamp – Framed Flower Garden

Hi Friends!

Today’s project takes you back to the Flower Garden set from Simon Says Stamp. I used it last at the end of march but only stamped the image partially. It’s such a beautiful and large image, I felt it was only right to stamp the image and color paint everything. That being said, I framed it when I was done to do it more justice.

My watercolor panel is 8×8. I stamped the image int he center using a light ink to do no-line watercoloring and patiently painted petal by petal, leaf by leaf, and stem by stem. How long did it take? 6.5 hours… it definitely requires patience to do no-line coloring, but I was determined!

To stay organized, I watercolored similar flowers together.

Then the stems in various green hues of paint.

I framed it for my daughter’s room (I’m out of wall space in my craftroom 😅 – there isn’t much wall space to start with in here). I decided to leave it clean as as.

In case you were wondering, here’s the card I mentioned at the beginning of the post – I used Karin makers on it for a slimline card. As you can see, I added plenty of splatters and colors for the card.

I hope this inspires you to paint! This set is just gorgeous and I know it wont be my last time using it!

  1. Oh my goodness Caly, I bet it looks beautiful in your daughter’s room. I was going to say you should frame your gorgeous painted flowers until you said it’s hanging in her room. Truly Beautiful work Caly!
