Welcome! I’m sharing a watercolor card today using the Hero Arts Poppy set. I love it when you can take a simple mini stamp set and create a full card with it. There are three poppy stems at various stages and I stamped each 3 times on watercolor paper to paint them.
I used Daniel Smith watercolors and it was really the quickest watercoloring I’ve ever done (I’m thankful for that)!
Daniel Smith: Payne’s Gray, Indian yellow, Pyyrol Crimson, Hooker’s Green
I have not used Hero Arts Reactive Inks in such a long time. A friend was asking me about it earlier this week and it reminded me to reach for them. I ink-blended the background using Splash and Green Apple inks. I love the soft, yet vibrant colors.
I attached my stems using foam tape for dimension and then splattered the panel with white and green paint. To finish, I attached a simple sentiment strip from the Simon Says Stamp Reverse Family Sentiment Strips. They really are my favorite! They add simple sentiments that don’t distract from your colored images.
