Hello Friends!

I tried a new technique and am sharing a card I made using the faux-shaker technique. You take a laminating pouch, add some flat confetti or glitter and run it through a laminator to get a faux-shaker panel. You get the look without the bulk – unless you add lots of dimension the way I have on today’s card. By the way – I saw this done by Nina-Marie Trapani and Jennifer McGuire – I take no credit for their genius!

I used the Floating Hearts Die and die-cut it 5 times using white cardstock. On a blank solid panel, I ink-blended using Distress Oxide inks to create a rainbow using a few colors: Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet. The red, yellow and blue being primary colors, will blend together to create the orange and green that you see. I spritzed it with some water before moving on to stacking my die-cut panels.

Meanwhile, I added Unicorn Dust, Unicorn Confetti, and iridescent circle confetti (I’ll link some hearts below) to a laminator pouch and ran it through my laminator. I cut them down to A2 pieces and used one for my card – sandwiching between two Floating Hearts panels – I felt having one underneath the laminated pouch would give me more areas and friction to adhere to my rainbow panel. I added the remaining laters to the top to give it added dimension.

I just couldn’t leave the hearts white, so I masked them from the “strings” an ink-blended them with the same inks to match the background. I then finished with a simple sentiment from the Reverse Birthday sentiment strips.
